Xiaomi’s Redmi Note series has been one of the best-selling smartphone series for many years. And rightly so, because it offers a lot for a very low price. I tested the new Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus Review and compared it to its Samsung competitors. Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus Review
While top-of-the-line smartphones costing over $1,000 receive a lot of coverage, mid-range smartphones are often overlooked in reporting. But, Samsung’s Galaxy A series and Xiaomi’s Redmi Note series are the among the best-selling smartphones in 2025. Xiaomi has now launched new models for 2026.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus Review – Design and Display
Once again, Xiaomi is launching a multitude of new smartphones, making it difficult for customers to choose the right model. However, the differences are quite minor. The Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus is the best model in this range. The Note 15 Pro (without the Plus) offers slightly lower performance, slower charging, and a weaker front camera. Otherwise, the two smartphones are almost identical.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus Review Design and Display:
There is only one visual difference that is immediately noticeable. While the cheaper model has a flat display, the Plus model has a display that is slightly curved on all four edges. However, it’s not as pronounced as previous curved displays, so I didn’t experience any problems during use.
The display itself is quite impressive. It features AMOLED technology, which provides rich colors and true blacks, as well as a slightly higher resolution than the usual Full HD, making the picture very sharp. With a brightness of slightly over 1000 nits, it’s bright enough for everyday use.

Turning the smartphone over reveals an unusual back, at least if you choose the Mocha Brown color. Xiaomi has used a leather-look plastic here. This variant feels very good in the hand and is perfect for those who prefer to use their phone without a case. The other two colors, Black and Glacier Blue, come with a normal matte plastic finish.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus Review Performance and Software:
The processor in this phone is quite suitable for daily tasks and provides enough power for some light gaming. However, the system exhibits quite a few stutters. This is not typical for Xiaomi, even in this price range. Since I tested this smartphone before its market launch, there’s a possibility of an update before the official release.
Speaking of updates, Xiaomi is currently shipping the Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus with Android 15 and its HyperOS 2 interface. The latest version update should arrive in a few months. HyperOS is visually quite attractive and offers many extra features and animations that enhance the user experience. However, the smartphone comes with a lot of pre-installed apps (bloatware), and system apps display ads. While the abundance of pre-installed apps is normal in this price range and they can be deleted with just a few clicks, the presence of ads in system apps can be quite confusing, especially for inexperienced users, which makes this smartphone less suitable for that target group.
On the other hand, the built-in speakers pleasantly surprised me. They are located on the top and bottom of the frame and deliver true stereo sound in landscape mode. They are also quite loud and can be used as a speaker while showering or cooking.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus Review Battery Life and Capacity:
Thanks to new battery technology, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus has a significantly larger battery than previous models: 6,500 mAh. In tests, it achieved a runtime of approximately 18 hours, which is 3 hours more than its Samsung competitors. Charging is also quite fast, reaching 0 to 100% in about an hour. However, despite the 100 watts, we were expecting even faster charging times. This is only possible if you use the Xiaomi Hyper Charge charger, which is unfortunately not included in the box.
Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus Camera Review:
The Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus has two cameras on the back. The main camera is 200 megapixels, which allows for taking zoom photos at lower resolutions through “sensor cropping,” thus acting like a “telephoto camera lite.” In daylight, it performs quite well up to 4x zoom. At night, you should stick to a maximum of 2x zoom. The secondary camera is with an 8-megapixel an ultra-wide-angle camera features. Its resolution is a bit low, but it’s sufficient for quick snapshots in good lighting. Photos taken with the main camera are quite sharp and detail-rich. The camera is also impressive in night photography, which wasn’t common in this price range a few years ago. Overall, the camera delivers solid performance for the price, as shown in the sample photos.
During testing, the Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus impressed with its high-quality build and excellent in-hand feel. The built-in hardware also made a good impression during testing. The display is quite sharp, and the camera and battery life are well-suited for daily use. As always with Xiaomi, I see some weaknesses in the software. Late updates and excessive advertising in the system slightly detract from the overall positive impression of the smartphone. Pros of Xiaomi Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus Review
