OnePlus 15 Review – 7300mAh Battery, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5

In modern smartphones, battery life is no longer just a feature, but a meaningful upgrade. The days of charging your phone multiple times a day may soon be over. The OnePlus 15 aims to deliver battery performance that makes you forget your phone even has a charging port on .

OnePlus 15 review covering 7300mAh silicon-carbon battery, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 performance, display, camera, charging speed, pros and cons.

Instead of classic lithium-ion uses on batteries, it uses silicon-carbon batteries: This type of new technology makes approximately 20 percent more capacity possible in the same size. Chinese phones manufacturers company like Xiaomi and Honor have been using this technology for some time and are equipping their smartphones with significantly larger battery units. However, the situation is different here. Due to transportation restrictions, Xiaomi, Honor, and similar companies install smaller batteries in their phones for the global market compared to the Chinese market. But the new OnePlus 15 is completely unaffected by these problems.

The OnePlus 15 Review Battery
The OnePlus 15 is features with a 7300 mAh battery. This is significantly larger than the standard 5200 mAh battery found in current flagship smartphones. With its 6.78-inch display, the OnePlus 15 is not compact, but in terms of size and weight, it doesn’t differ significantly from other top smartphones.

In terms of design, the new OnePlus 15 looks quite impressive. With its matte colours, discreet camera, and minimalist logo, the smartphone looks more elegant than previous generations. The metal frame and slightly rough surface give it a premium feel in the hand. The back is made of “Crystal Shield Glass.” Even coins or keys in your pocket can’t scratch it. This was confirmed in our tests: all scratches wiped away easily.

OnePlus 15 Review High-End Features
The technical features are also quite impressive. The OnePlus 15 is the first smartphone to launch with the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. This is currently the fastest processor available for Android smartphones. It will also be found in Samsung, Xiaomi, and other top smartphones in the coming months.

This is why the OnePlus 15 set a new performance record in our tests. The AnTuTu benchmark score is 2,884,072 points. This performance is somewhat exaggerated because the smartphone can only maintain such high performance for about 10 minutes. A second test run is not possible because the phone overheats and switches off, becoming so hot that it’s difficult to touch. Another performance test also fails on the first run due to overheating. However, this problem doesn’t occur in daily use. Even with heavy apps and games, the phone doesn’t get unusually hot.

The display is razor-sharp, offering a resolution higher than Full HD, first-class colours and viewing angles, and remains quite bright even in direct sunlight. The 165Hz refresh rate is higher than the normal 120Hz, but the difference isn’t very noticeable in daily use. As expected in this price range, the smartphone dynamically controls its refresh rate and reduces it to as low as 1Hz to save energy in cases like the Always-On Display.

Battery Performance: Truly XXL?
When it comes to the battery, this is where the OnePlus 15 shines the most. As mentioned earlier, the 7300 mAh battery is quite large, and the battery life is equally impressive. With a runtime of 32 hours and 23 minutes in our battery benchmark, the smartphone surpassed all other top smartphones and has a very good chance of winning the battery crown this year. Even in daily use, the battery life is quite impressive. Even on days with heavy screen time, there’s no need to charge the phone. And with moderate use, it easily lasts two days.

If the battery ever does run out, recharging doesn’t take long. The battery charges from 0 to 100 percent in just 56 minutes. The charging speed goes up to 120 watts, but the charger is not included in the box. Wireless charging is also available.

50 Megapixel Triple Camera
Now let’s talk about the OnePlus 15 Review cameras. The OnePlus 15 has three cameras on the back, all with a 50-megapixel resolution. In addition to the main camera, there’s a telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom and an ultra-wide-angle camera with a 116-degree field of view. On the front side, there’s a 32-megapixel camera for selfies video and picture.

During my week of using the OnePlus 15, the weather wasn’t great, yet the daytime photography was quite impressive. The images are razor-sharp, and the phone has no problem capturing moving subjects. Yes, there’s a need for some improvement in colour balance between the different lenses. Photos from the ultra-wide-angle camera look a bit paler compared to the main camera, and the zoom camera’s colours are slightly warmer.

Another problem arises in low light. Photos taken in complete darkness turn out quite well, and the subject is captured realistically, but the phone struggles with bright lights. Light streaks appear, and the focus isn’t always accurate. It remains to be seen how much OnePlus will address this issue through future updates.

OnePlus 15 Review: Final Thoughts
In testing, the OnePlus 15 emerges as an elegant upper-class smartphone, offering top-level performance, an excellent display, and truly first-class battery life. The camera is also quite impressive in daylight, but OnePlus still needs to improve its night photography capabilities.

The OnePlus 15 starts at $899, (80,856.51 Indian Rupee) which seems quite fair considering its features. It’s also worth mentioning the price of the memory upgrade. The basic version comes with 256GB of storage, and upgrading to 512GB only costs an extra $100(8,994 Indian Rupee) Most manufacturers charge significantly more for memory upgrades. Unfortunately, due to delays in FCC certification caused by the government shutdown, the phone is not yet available in the US.
