Motorola Edge 70 Review –The Motorola Edge 70 is one of the slimmest smartphones currently available on the market. But is it limited to just its slim body and striking colors, or does it also deliver on performance? We had the opportunity to get our hands on the phone and test it properly.
At first glance, the Motorola Edge 70 presents itself as a very slim smartphone with eye-catching color options. You will not find classic black or white here. Instead, three variants are available: a deep dark green with golden accents (“Bronze Green”), a petrol-colored shade with orange highlights (“Lily Pad”), and a gray-blue model with blue details (“Gadget gray”). The petrol-colored variant, particularly, is likely to appeal to many – our test device was in the Bronze Green color, which also looks quite premium. Motorola has collaborated with Pantone’s color specialists for the color design and has been bringing trend-focused designs to the market for many years.

Motorola Edge 70 Review -Slim Format – Best Without a Case
With a thickness of just 5.99 millimeters, the Edge 70 is one of the slimmest smartphones currently available. Along with its slim body, its lightweight design of only 159 grams is also a major highlight. In today’s world, where many devices exceed 200 grams, this is a welcome relief for daily use.
This phone shines brightest when used without a case. The textured metal frame and nylon-look back panel provide a great grip and feel – something often lost with thicker protective covers. Nevertheless, if you do want to use a case, a high-quality transparent case is included in the box.
Motorola Edge 70 Review -Surprisingly Robust Despite the Slim Design
Despite its thin design, the Motorola Edge 70 is quite robust. It features Gorilla Glass 7 protection, and the phone is dust and water resistant with IP69 certification. In addition, it has also been tested against military standards, where higher load limits are checked.
This smartphone is designed to handle extreme temperatures, heavy rain, sand, and submersion in water. We witnessed all of this live during the launch event: the Edge 70 was tested in a cold chamber and an infrared sauna, immersed in sand and water, and frozen in a block of ice for a week. Even after being freed with a drill and chisel, the device was immediately ready for use.

Motorola Edge 70 Review Features: Solid Mid-Range With a Premium Touch.
From a technical standpoint, the Edge 70 falls into the upper mid-range category. Its 6.67-inch AMOLED display looks quite impressive with vibrant colors and high brightness. It uses a current mid-range SoC, which delivers stable performance even after a day of normal use.
The good news is that despite the slim design, the battery has not been significantly compromised. The 4,800 mAh battery capacity is only slightly less than the industry standard 5,000 mAh – and significantly more than the 3,900 mAh of the Samsung S25 Edge. This is possible thanks to the new silicon-carbon battery technology, which many Chinese manufacturers have been using for some time. This technology allows for either a thinner phone with the same capacity, or a larger battery in a phone of the same size.

Motorola Edge 70 Review -On the back, there is a 50-megapixel primary camera with a Sony sensor, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera. There is no optical zoom – models like the Nothing Phone 3a Pro or Honor 400 Pro offer more in this regard. Nevertheless, the camera gives a solid overall impression, although a verdict after only one day of use would be premature.

Ambitious Price – Motorola Edge 70 Review With an Attractive Starter Bundle.
With an RRP of 799 euros, the Motorola Edge 70 might seem a bit expensive considering its features. However, prices are expected to drop in the coming few months. At the time of its market launch, Motorola is offering a very attractive bundle: wireless headphones, a fitness tracker, a Motor Tag, and a charger are all included in the box.
